A smart classroom solution in the UAE costs about AED 7,000 – 18,000 for a basic setup, AED 25,000 – 55,000 for a mid-range hybrid-ready room, and AED 80,000 – 220,000+ for a premium LED-wall classroom in 2026, before 5% VAT. The display usually takes 40 – 60% of the budget. Audio, cameras, installation and a yearly maintenance contract (AMC) make up the rest.
The blog is to help the school or college managers in UAE to understand the price range of a smart classroom and to compare overall cost. The final prices always depend on a direct site survey.

What changes the price of a smart classroom?
There are many factors that decide what a smart classroom costs in the UAE, like display technology, screen size, pixel pitch, brightness and glass, computing hardware, hybrid-learning equipment, audio and room acoustics, network readiness, installation conditions, and the support plan.
Display choice alone can move the budget from about AED 7,000 to over AED 100,000 per room. Hybrid equipment and audio usually decide whether a room lands at the low or high end of its tier.
1.Display technology.
An interactive flat panel is a single LCD touchscreen. An LED wall is built from modules and can be any size. LED costs more at first, but it scales to large rooms and lasts around 100,000 hours.
2.Screen size and viewing distance.
A common rule is that the back row should sit no further than about 6 times the screen height away. Rooms deeper than 9–10 m usually need 98″ or bigger, or LED.
3.Pixel pitch (LED only).
Pixel pitch is the distance between LED pixels. Smaller pitch means a sharper image at close range and a higher cost. Most classrooms need 1.5–2.5 mm. Lecture halls can use larger pitches.
4.Hybrid-learning capability.
Remote students need a camera, microphones and echo cancellation. This is the biggest jump in cost from basic to mid-range.
5. Room acoustics.
Hard surfaces in Gulf classrooms cause echo. Acoustic panels (AED 2,000–8,000 per room) can save money on audio equipment.
6.Environment.
Heat, dust and sun glare in UAE buildings call for anti-glare glass, higher-brightness displays and good ventilation behind LED walls.
7. Volume.
A 30-room rollout usually gets 10–20% lower unit prices than buying a single room.
8. Software and licenses.
Classroom management, whiteboard and device management software may be free with the panel or charged per device per year.
Worked example: 30-classroom school in Dubai
A private school fitting out 24 mid-range classrooms, 5 basic KG rooms and 1 premium lecture room:
| Item | Quantity | Unit cost (AED, midpoint) | Subtotal(AED) |
| Mid-range classroom | 24 | 40000 | 960,000 |
| Basic classroom (KG) | 5 | 12500 | 625000 |
| Premium lecture room | 1 | 150000 | 150,000 |
| Hardware and installation | 1,172,500 | ||
| Volume discount (about 10%) | −117,250 | ||
| Net project cost | 1,055,250 | ||
| UAE VAT(5%) | 52,763 | ||
| Total including VAT | 1,108,013 | ||
| AMC, years 2–5 (about 7% a year) | about 73,900 a year |
That works out to about AED 36,900 per classroom including VAT, or roughly AED 46,700 per classroom over 5 years with AMC included.
Interactive flat panel vs LED wall: cost comparison
| Factor | Interactive flat panel (86″) | Classroom LED wall (about 138″) |
| Upfront cost (display only) | AED 12,000 – 25,000 | AED 40,000 – 80,000 |
| Rated Lifespan | about 50,000 hours | about 100,000 hours |
| Touch | Built-In | Needs an overlay or a separate panel |
| Best room size | Up to about 60 m², 30 students | Large rooms, lecture halls, 40+ students |
| Repairability | Panel replaced as a whole | Individual modules swapped |
| Best fit | Standard K-12 classrooms | Universities, auditoriums, flagship rooms |
What does a smart classroom AMC cost in the UAE?
An annual maintenance contract (AMC) covers preventive maintenance, firmware updates, repairs and guaranteed response times after the manufacturer’s warranty. In the UAE, AMCs typically cost 5–10% of the system value per year.
| AMC level | What’s included | Typical cost (% of system value a year) |
| Basic | 2 preventive visits a year, remote support, labour only | 4 – 6% |
| Standard | Quarterly visits, 24–48h on-site response, firmware management | 6 – 8% |
| Comprehensive | Includes parts, spare stock kept on site, same-day response | 8 – 12% |
Tip: You have to confirm whether the AMC covers exam periods with priority response. A failed display during assessments costs more than the contract.
Hidden costs schools often miss
- Electrical upgrades: Dedicated circuits and power points are expensive, especially for LED walls
- Network readiness: Wi-Fi 6 access points and PoE switches for cameras (AED 1,500–5,000 per room)
- Wall reinforcement: Heavy displays need solid mounting points in drywall classrooms
- Software subscriptions:Device management, classroom apps, lecture capture storage.
- Replacement parts: styluses, remotes, OPS upgrades, and spare LED modules (plan 5–10% of module count)
- Teacher adoption: without training, equipment sits unused and the money is wasted
How to reduce smart classroom costs without cutting quality
- Standardise on one design across all similar rooms to get volume pricing and simpler support.
- Spend more on audio, less on screen size. Clear audio does more for learning than a bigger screen.
- Use built-in Android in KG and primary rooms instead of an OPS PC.
- Put premium LED only where it pays off: auditoriums, lecture halls and showcase rooms.
- Roll out in phases by academic year so capital spending lines up with budget cycles.
- Bundle a 3–5 year AMC at purchase. Multi-year AMCs are usually cheaper per year.
